Summary:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Steel Shop Production Clerk to join our team.
The Steel Shop Production Clerk will be responsible for providing administrative support to our steel fabrication operations, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the production team.
The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination and scheduling of production activities in the steel shop.
Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring timely completion of orders.
Monitor and track work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and data entry.
Collaborate with the production team to prioritize and allocate resources for an efficient workflow.
Assist in tracking and reporting production metrics such as productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, including raw materials and finished products.
Coordinate with purchasing to ensure the timely availability of materials for production.
Assist in managing inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks, and initiating reorder requests.
Generate and maintain reports related to production activities, including production logs and quality control documentation.
Support the implementation and adherence to safety protocols and procedures in the steel shop.
Collaborate with maintenance and quality control personnel to address equipment or product issues.
Assist in resolving any production-related discrepancies or issues, working closely with the production team and supervisors.
Provide general administrative support, such as filing, data entry, and documentation management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment is preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work Proficiency in using computer software applications, including spreadsheets and production management systems Knowledge of production scheduling principles and practices.
Familiarity with inventory management and tracking systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
A basic understanding of steel fabrication processes and terminology is a plus.
